Dear Colleagues
The Organizing Committee of the 32nd ESTS Annual Meeting, to be held in Barcelona in May, 2024, welcomes you, after the rewarding experience of the last Annual Meeting in Milan.
Like in the previous meetings, this 32nd ESTS Annual Meeting will consist of a mixture of oral and video presentations comprising different areas of thoracic surgery and many other selected topics closely related to General Thoracic Surgery, in addition to the classic sessions like Brompton, Young Investigator, extraordinary lectures and others. A great effort is made by the Program Committee to present a program with an outstanding content and particular attention will be given to the discussion time of the topics. The personal relationships are also very important for this exchange of experiences, so we will have several and large spaces to meet together.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. Its inhabitants are open and welcoming. The people of Barcelona speak Catalan, their own language, and Spanish. Many of them also understand and speak English and French. Barcelona overlooks the Mediterranean and is located in a heavily populated area which is a hub of economic activity. Barcelona enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and warm summers. It is a coastal city and has over four kilometers of urban beaches and large areas of nearby forest. Although it is a large city, it is easy to get around on public transport and on foot. You can reach any point in the city by metro, bus and taxi.
The Meeting will take place at the Barcelona Congress Palace in the center of Barcelona, at the foot of the Olympic Montjuic mountain. The Gothic Quarter of Barcelona, is where the city originated and where the most emblematic public buildings are located: The Cathedral, the impressive church of St. Maria del Mar, one of the finest Gothic churches in Spain, and the Picasso Museum. Barcelona harbour and the modernist buildings by Antonio Gaudi, La Pedrera and La Casa Batlló, are a must to visit. Spring is the best time of the year to visit Barcelona and you can enjoy pleasant walks in the city.
We hope you will honor us with your active participation in the 32nd ESTS Annual Meeting. We are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces among us. We count on you to make the meeting a real educational and scientific success.
Dear Colleagues and Friends!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Program Committee, it is a great honor to invite you to the 32nd Conference of ESTS in Barcelona. The Society has worked very hard to provide an exciting opportunity to network and be informed about the newest trends in thoracic surgery.
Today, we live in a revolutionary time of thoracic surgery and lung cancer treatment. During this conference, there will be many presentations and discussions about the hot topics in our daily practice, such as robotic thoracic surgery, the advantage of perioperative immunotherapy, and sublobar resection. New trends in the techniques and background of our practice will be introduced in the Training Village, which is a very popular event among the members every year.
Dear Trainees! If you are at the beginning of your career and interested in clinical studies, you can find many projects to join or get inspiration from the presentations to build your own clinical study.
Dear Experts! As icons, you are responsible for the young generation. Please join the conference as your personality and guidance motivate them.
Dear Colleagues and Friends!
With the organization of the Annual Meeting, ESTS makes it possible for you to accomplish our Mission. The Mission is possible; we request you to be a part of that.
